Craig6519
Here's whats going on, everything i've read says set your mains to small and send all you Bass to the subs, mine being 20-39cs, Ok when I set my mains to Lg, and bass to both the bass impact is incredible, when I set my mains to small and bass to subs only the impact isn't there anymore. Does this seem odd? It really is a night and day difference. forresthump
if I set mine to large with the same bass going to both the sub & the mains I get more impact too. it might sound like muddy crap but much more impact ------------------ go forth & hump the world
Craig6519
Well forusthump, It doesn't sound like muddy crap as a matter of fact I love the way I can feel it!! It's tight, fast, accurate hard hitting bass. Even on small it's tight but at least 50% less Impact and thats what I want from a sub. I just thought It was best to run small, why Is IT mine system runs better set to Lg.? boa12
craig, that's probably because those 30s do slam down there in that 2nd octave. with your setting to both when u change to small it takes away your 30s slam. don't listen to the crowd. do what's best to u. like forrest implied i got a lot more bass quantity when i put my 30s on large but it was real muddy (poor quality due to mains/sub/room interaction). took me a new processor to get it right. w/ the B&K i put the speaks to small, moved the crossover down to 50hz with a nice gentle 12db/octave slope & took out the notch -5db from 45-55hz. finally the 30s & sub blend w/ big & clean impact. ------------------ Klipsch KLF 30 (front) Klipsch KLF C7 (center) Klipsch Cornwall I (rear) Klipsch KLF C7 (rear center) Velodyne HGS-18 sub woofer B&K Reference 30 tuner/preamp/processor Acurus A200X5 power amp Marantz MA6100 mono amp (rear center) Sony DVP-C650D 5-disk cd/dvd player Sony Trinitron 27" stereo tv Toshiba hi-fi stereo vcr Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 digital cable box Monster HTS2500 & HT200 powercenters Boa's Listenin Lounge: Klipsch RF-3, RC-3 Marantz SR-8000 receiver Kenwood KR-9600 AM/FM stereo receiver (vintage 1975) Russound AB-2 receiver switch to RF-3 Teac PD-D1200 5-disk cd changer Technics SL-1950 turntable/AT LS500 cartridge Technics dual cassette deck Monster HTS1000 powercenter Bedroom: Sony STR-DE935 receiver Technics cube speakers rock on!
