firedawg24 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Besides the SA's how do the AW, HS and the KHO series rate which ones would any of you recommend? They seem to be the easiest to find on EBay. Quote
DrWho Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I'm planning on powering my "outside" speakers with the Mulit Zone Amp in my Harman Kardon AVR-7300 and then maybe later use an A-BUS ... Do you think there is any way lightening could hit one of these "outside" speakers and damage my AVR-7300 ??? OR... Do you think if water got into the speakers, the water could somehow short or damage the AVR-7300 ??? So what do you think? lol, if lightning hit your house I think you would more to worry about then a random $50 speaker [] And all the charge in the area would probably blow up your reciever and the rest of your electronics too - even if you didn't have the speakers. The only way water in the cabinet would create a short is if the water made a connection between the + and - sides of the signal...with the port pointing down I don't see how water is going to fill up inside without spilling out. You might have problems with dew in the morning on the crossover, but even then I don't think it'd be an issue. If you're really worried, just seal off the crossover....you won't have to worry about the leads going to the driver or the input terminals because they're too far apart. Quote

KSB 1.1's can be gotten for like $50 per pair on ebay. If you hung em tight under overhangs, they wouldn't get much weather anyway. Michael I guess all our hype is good for business... Every since I decided to get another pair of KSB 1.1 for outside duty... Every pair that I've seen on Ebay has been going for about $100 or so... GO FIGURE! I'll find a pair some day... -TIM Quote
DrWho Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Ya, I should throw in a ditto for the KSB's.....amazing little boogers, especially for the price. 5 of those suckers and sub-12 and you'd have yourself a rocking HT for a small room. Throw in a reciever and you've got yourself a nice small system for under $1k. Quote
colterphoto1 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Yeah, Who, I've got that setup here waiting to install in my master bedroom. 4 of the ksb1.1, one center KSC-C1, then maybe a sub, who needs it late at night really? I love them lil KSB boxes, they're so cute! Quote
