Hi,

After follwoing a discussion in Audio-Asylum, I show a surprising comment that on the type B supplied Cornwall speakers there is a 2.6 H coil attached to the woofer.

On both speakers of mode I I have there is no coil. Only the xover board with the 2 oil caps and the 2 trsf. Something missing here ?!?!?

thank you

george

I think the two "transformers" you see are really the autoformer (that sets the squawker and tweeter level) and the inductor (coil) that rolls off the woofer above 600 Hz. It looks like a transformer, but it only has a primary - so it's a coil.

The signal from the input goes through a 2.6mH inductor to the K33 woofer. From the input it also goes through a 4µF cap to tap 5 on the autoformer.Tap 4 on the autoformer goes through a 2µf cap to the K77 tweeter.Tap 3 on the autoformer goes to the K55 midrange driver. All grounds common with tap 0 on the autoformer.

type and looks similar to the autoformer.
