Enrico
I am almost ready to move into my new home and I will have the Klipsch Ultra II Series speakers installed upon completion. I currently have a Denon 3805 to power my 7.1, but I am getting the itch to upgrade. I really like the 4806 receiver, but it is a bit on the pricey side. I want to get a receiver and a new HDTV when we move into the home, so I want to get the most bang for the dollar. Money is a concern. Any feedback from current owners of the speakers and the receiver they use would really be appreciated. I am not a Denon fan boy, so input on any manufacturer will be appreciated. BobbyT
Another option to consider is adding an outboard amp to your 3805. And down the road you could add a dedicated pre/pro after all of the new HD and sound formats are finalized. Most bang for your buck. For the price of a 4806 you can get a good amp. B&K and Sunfire are popular amp brands here.
TheSoundBroker
Get ye into some separates. The Ultra 2 system benefits from better grade horsepower. It sounds good with one of the bigger recievers...but it sounds amazing with top grade electronics.
LebanonKlipschFan
I would greatly recommend getting an outboard and some good interconnects and you will greatly be reqarded with better sound than upgrading to the 4806. Also PM me if you are looking for a THX ultra 2 system, i may be looking to part ways with mine...
Enrico
Thank you for your advice and input. What do you think of Sunfire's Cinema Grand 200 ~ 7? I would buy the speakers from someone, but I am able to roll them into my mortgage.
Chris Robinson
Just purchased a Sunfire 200x7 ... and a used Sunfire Theater Grand I ... Testing begins this weekend but I suspect it will do the job in every respect. Chris
