efzauner
There seems to be many Heatkit W-5M tube mono amps on ebay lately selling in the $300 price range. I have a pair, but need to restore them first and that is a longer term project. What is your opinion on them? Compared to other vintage stuff in the same price range? Very nice when properly restored. Two version of the W5M were produced with different output transformers. I don't recall which transformer part numbers were considered better but there was suppose to be a difference. Either way though well worth getting up to snuff. fairchild260
the larger output transformer (16451) was considered to be the better of the 2 output transformers.heaathkit had alot of problems with the smaller (16309)which is why they changed to the larger peerless.
