Question on line conditioners

Recommended Posts

If I were to buy a line conditioner for a CD player, then what amp rating would I need?

Juicy Music tube pre-amp...what amp rating would I need?

What if you needed 6 outlets, what amp rating would you need if you were hooking up two amps, one pre-amp an EQ, CD player and DVD player? Is the draw cumulative?

How many amps would a typical 100WPC SS amplifier draw?

And on and on and on...

Look at the rating plate on each component. It should tell you the maximum power consumption in W. Assuming you have 120V AC, just add them all up and divide by 120 for the total amps. This assumes a power factor of 1. There is a difference between W and VA if the power factor of the device is not 1. But for your purpose, it should be fine unless you have something that uses lots of power and has a switching power supply.
