Guest Webmaster Posted March 24, 2006 Share Posted March 24, 2006 I've been a little busy trying to fix issues with the forum upgrade so I haven't had a chance to post this, but I went to Chicago last saturday to see Dream Theater and it was awesome. The first time I saw them was just on the Gigantor tour, which was cool, but the Chicago show was "An evening with Dream Theater" show where there was no opening act and they played two sets with an intermission inbetween. That was a cool experience to see about 3 or 3 1/2 hours of Dream Theater. One of the highlights was when Portnoy did a drum solo face-off of sorts with Charlie Benante from Anthrax before the intermission. They played more songs off of Images and Words and Octavarium than any other album. They even played a Majesty song and an out-take of a song from Falling Into Infinity. My only complaint is that they only played one song from Scenes From A Memory. That's still my favorite album and while the dvd of them playing it from start to finish is cool, I'm still jealous of my friend that saw them do it on that tour. Anyway, great show!
