davidm71
Anyone notice any unusual ear pain sensation after using these 4.1 speakers? I have a sound blaster Audigy gamer and I heard that it can put out sounds beyond the audible range. Just wondering if that these speakers as powerfull as they are can but out sounds that hurt the ear drums. I dont have the volume up to much and I've turned down the subwoofer out of fear for my ears. Kind of feels like there is cotton stuffed in one ear. Just got these the other day and its too soon to say. I know it sounds crazy so what can I say expect anyone else out there feel the same way? Thanks. TheEAR
Stop using the ProMedias as headphones! The ProMedia cant hurt your ears above 18KHz or below 30Hz as its response rolls off sharply there. I think the sub was turned out too much up and the 40-60Hz cleaned your ears a bit too much. You may not be used to high SPL(sound presure level)too much. The sub level should be a 20%,no more.Unless the sub is in the middle of the room. The Audigy cannot hurt you with any frequency, since the speakers can reproduce extremes. If you had Cerwin Vega PRO,EAW or huge Genelecs then I would have no doubt you can damage your hearing with extremes. The ProMedia is safe, the EAR(s) aproved. Just dont blast the speakers too much and set all the settings(bass and treble)to flat in Windows. TheEAR(s) Now theears
davidm71
But I wasn't blasting them and the subs weren't turned up all that much if not at all. Just that the Subwoofer is under my desk only two-three feet away might have something to with it I don't know but I ears are feeling fine now, so we will see with time. Thanks. blondeveritechpilot
I have my sub turned to 40%, but it is under my desk in the middle of my room and my ears do not hurt from it. I do not think I am damaging my hearing am I? I mean in some spots the noises get loud, but not unbearable. If it gets so unbearable while to you listen to it?
