rcarlton
3" pyramid foam, behind the TV.
rcarlton
I'm not sure I like all the foam on the walls. Can't say it has made a tremendous difference. Still seriously considering OC-703 bass traps. I think the biggest improvement I got was putting the foam in the fireplace[]. Sure stopped the rattling during movies. How much did that much foam cost you? OC-703 is always an option, in addition to or replacing some of the foam.
rcarlton
I got it from FoamByMail. Regular price. I got a dog bed also...dog doesn't like it. I made the mistake of getting the thickest bed...I think she is afraid of falling off.
rcarlton
I think ATS Acoustics may have some of the best prices for acoustic panels. Not sure I could make them myself...probably wouldn't look as good. I would need to factor in additional tools...staple gun, miter saw, etc.
damonrpayne
Didn't I read somewhere that the ATS panels are just owens corning 703 covered in burlap?
rcarlton
That is correct, with a frame and plywood backing. However, that is the way some of the instructions on the web describe making bass traps. Others recommend Terratex by Guilford of Maine. Looks like burlap to me (maybe a little nicer). You want a fabric that does not effect sound waves. Speaker fabric would also work.
