Volsfan846
Got a question for you HT gurus out there. I have a decent sounding 5.1 and I am moving up to a 7.1 system. I have CW's in the front, a Heresy in the center and Forte's as the surround speakers. I have one extra Heresy. I need rear speakers. How well do you think one of the good in-wall rear speakers would work in my set-up. I could go with a couple of R5800's or R5650's. I just don't know how important the rears are in a 7.1 system. I could buy a couple more Heresy's I guess, but the in-wall's would look so much better. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help...
colterphoto1
move the matching Heresies to rear surround duty and get a single CW center.
Volsfan846
Wish I could, but just no room. I have the system elevated about a foot on a stage and I only have an 8' ceiling. Not enough room for a CW above the big screen. A Heresy will barely fit and look decent....
Volsfan846
Bump.... Surely some of you guys have tried Klipsch in-wall speakers for the rears in a 7.1 set-up....
fletcherkane
I think guys aren't responding because none of them have in walls with Heritage. I say go for it if you don't have room for more heritage. It won't be a perfect timbre match but you could do a lot worse...
J.4knee
If you were going to mix lines I would recommend against it. If you must go with in-walls in the rear Id switch to a ref system for HT and keep your CW's as a "b speaker for two channel use.
