thebes Posted October 23, 2006 Share Posted October 23, 2006 There's just something about the Fall, a sad farewell to Summer's warmth, or perhaps more importantly the whole Summer mood thing. But Fall brings it's own moods, increased energy and focus, the shortening days a harbinger of impending Winter, golden rays of sunshine peeking through multi-colored leaves. Perhaps my favorite season of them all. Format's simple: Name of artist or group, name of album, type of music as best you can (rock, blues etc.), and recording format (cd, lp etc.) As usual I'll start it off with: The Righteous Brothers, "Just Once in My Life", lp, pop/soul My music tastes sometimes change slightly with the seasons and this is one for a little nostalgia trip laying on a rug in front of a warm hearth with a loved one. White Boy soul cats who launced a thousand teenage love affairs, first kisses, and maybe a little "Second Base" action. This is their second album and it's got some of their greatest songs: "Just Once In My Life", 'Unchained Melody" and "You'll Never Walk Alone". Quality-wise it's poorly recorded but despite the soundman's limitations their harmonies and vocals shine through. So what do you have to share this week? oldbuckster Posted October 26, 2006 Share Posted October 26, 2006 Will be silent for a couple of weeks....will return.....here's a couple of Greatest Hits Disc's for this week......not really big on this type of album in LP form, too short, but CD offers alot more music on a disc...plus many are remastered...so these are worth the price, and worth a listen....... FEELIN' ALLRIGHT; the Very Best of Traffic.......If you don't have traffic and are curious about them, this is a real nice Cd, great song list....excellent sound...and covers early Traffic real well all the way to Low Spark....well worth owning....... GREATEST HITS : the Band..........Another CD that covers their career's real well...18 of their great songs....great song list, again, remastered sound, if you don't own any Band and are curious about them, this disc will help....another well worth owning.............
