Raider
The RT12d has some nice features that can be changed at the control panel. The unit also has an IR input. Does this mean that a universal remote can be used with the units. If so, how is the remote programmed to enable these features. If it has this capability, then I really don't understand why the sub doesnt come with a remote. Even the $500 Velodynes have a remote. TheEAR
Not too many subs come with remotes,on my Aerial its an option(at least was)!Revel...nada,JL Audio...NADA,...SVS ..nada. Paradigm ...nada. Yes I agree a remote with ...phase,volume at least should be standard on all subs(around $1000 and up).
Raider
The main feature I wanted is to be able to easily enable night mode. The references I read on the site as to what use of the RT with a learning remote would do, or how you go about it are pretty vague. Dealers don't seem to know much more. TheEAR
Look at my sig,can a lunatic like me have kids? They would suffer from severe magnetic disturbance and the wife would use the hatchet a long time ago, when the tenth sub arrived home. Trooper
You can adjust a lot with a remote on the new RWd, RSWd and RTd subs; volume, crossover, phase, etc. But the primary purpose was to select "presets". You can go in the menu and set all the settings for movies and save it uder the "Movie" preset, same for Music and Night presets. Then with the remote you can easily recall any of those presets. This allows you, for instance, to include the "Movie" IR code in a macro on your remote when you select "play dvd". Call tech support as they have the IR codes that can be programmed into Prontos, Theater Masters and othe programmable remotes.
