Cornwalled
Hey Guys,I am looking for some info on Klipsch's mighty K-47 woofer. A forum member here has two he's interested in selling, and I'm wondering if I can make subs out of them. I know they were originally used in the KP-480, but with a 15" passive radiator, which he doesn't have. Can I still get a pretty good response out of them without it, or am I better off using other drivers? What would really be helpful is Thiele/Small parameters, as I could plug them into WinISD and get an idea what I'm dealing with. I called Klipsch, and they didn't have any info on the woofer itself, just the KP-480 cab it came out of. Any information you guys might have would be really appreciated!-Jon

Cornwalled
Bodcaw Boy, Thanks for the correction about speaker cabinet models. It looks like the KP-682 was a dual 18" sub. Is there any advantage to a 2x18 vs. 2 single 18 cabs? -Jon EDIT: I just looked at the KPT-648, and see it has slightly better bass extension than the 682 (34 Hz vs. 40 Hz) and looks really cool. However, it mentions K-47-EP2 drivers. Is this a different driver than the K-47-K?
