tom b. 57
What do you guys think of replacing my Phase Linear 3000 Series II preamp with a Carver C-2 preamp. I am running a Carver M500 amp and pushing two pair of Cornwalls and a pair of Forte. I can get the preamp pretty cheap, less than $100. Is it a step up or just throwing money into the wind? What do you say? Tom
Klipsched with Yamahas
Not having ever owned one I cannot comment either way, but I've heard nothing but outstanding things about Carver products in the past.
Duke Spinner
Noooooooo............!!!!!!!!!! i tried going from C-1, to a C-2......sounded like ..[+o(] itsa sonic turd..the c-1 was much better, ddespite all the glowing reccommendations you'll read on the net.... ditch the PL preamp, too .....it leaves a LOT to be desired the PL, and the C-2 are not good matches ith Klipsch, or anything else
