George Harrisson on VH-1 Classic

VH-1 has a 1997 interview and a couple of live accoustic songs on this morning. I would expect it to be replayed quite a bit.

These audio video rarities always take place when I am having problems with VHS recording. UGH!

I could have listened to George more; I have been looking for the reissue of "All Things Must Pass" at a discount, I will just go pay retail this weekend.

My roommate in college 20 years ago had the "Concert for Bangladesh" I have never found a CD of this. Does anyone have it?

I think "Concert For Bangladesh" CD was on track to be re-issued the early part of 2002 (@February). I don't know if there were any plans for a DVD version, but that would be pretty cool. I'd like to see a good comprehensive anthology or box set of Harrison's work get issued. Here's a guy who was highly underrated by the critics, but who's contemporaries always wanted on their recordings. Also, if you have the Traveling Wilburys CDs, hang on to them, because I've been reading that they are out of print at this point. These guys made some really good music together.

I can remember going to the movie theatre to see the "Concert For Bangladesh." Of course that was before surround sound but it really decent anyway. Billy Preston,Klaus Voorman, and Leon Russell were among the performers. I'm surprised VH-1 hasn't already shown it. Perhaps there are some licensing problems that prevented that. That's one classic concert I would like to see again. :-) But then a friend of mine had the 8-track of it and played the crap out of it I got a bit tired of it. I would like to see or hear it again though. It's been a long time.

The Beatles were probably the largest influence on me when I was first learning to play drums. They came out about the same time I started learning and really lit a fire under my arse. Most people will never realize the trememdous impact they made on music and society in general.
