TheKillerTomato
I'm buying two RF-82's for my mains, an RC-62 Center, and possibly some surrounds. I can get the RS-42's for $180 each, the RS-52's for $300 each, or the RS-35's for $175 each. I use a Pioneer Elite VSX-81TXV (110 w/channel - 7.1) in a 20'x18' room with 18' tall cathedral ceiling. Because of my open floor plan, the surrounds and rears are wired 12' from the floor. Obviously, I like spending the least amount of money, but I want the most bang for the buck. Thanks in advance. jamesV
Are these going to be mounted to the ceiling? I'm just like everyone else around here, I like to spend other members money so I would go with the RS-52. The main reason is to fill out the space that you might have in the room. I have the RF-83 setup in a room just smaller then your room and it's great. But as always, spend what you can and add to it as needed. TheKillerTomato
Ok, I just measured my surrounds heighth at 10', a little better than 12'. No, they are not mounted on the ceiling. How does the discontinued RS-35 compare to the RS-52? Will it be that much of a drop off? And, when mounting whichever surrounds I get, wouldn't you guys agree that I should angle them down? bismarck
definitely angle them down. You don't want underpowered surrounds but the surround speakers are not on constantly, in fact, a person doesn't actually take not of them very often in a movie and most music isn't in 5.1. Basically, you don't always need very powerful surrounds, unless you listen to a lot of music in6 channel stereo. Just some words of advice, but Iam not familiar with each of the speaker so sorry, no suggestions there.
whitesox
have you found brackets for the RS 25 or RS35 that can direct the speaker downward from 10 ' high ?

Jason H
I listened to the RS 52's and RS 35's they were mounted in the ceiling in a small sound room, to my untrained ear I could not tell any difference and 35's were $200 cheaper,I went for the 35's and love em they sound even better at home.
