Danartdis
I am posting this in the HT forum also. I have an HK AV500 and DVD player is JVC XV525. The HK would not switch to DTS to play Shrek. I made some adjustments in the JVC's audio menu and got the HK to accept DTS selection. Unfortunately, listening to Shrek this morning in DTS for the first time, I was disappointed to notice that sound was coming from center, right front and sub only. The adjustment I made to get the DTS to work was to change the "Down Mix" setting from "Lo/Ro" to "Lt/Rt". Any suggestions? Does this sound like a problem with the HK? QUiKSR20
Hmm I really dont know buddy I would love to help you out.. but im not too familour with your HK and JVC dvd player.. I personally have a SONY Reciever yeah yeah I know its not the best but its ok lol and I just set it to AUTO FORMAT DECODING and then on the dvd for say planet of the apes just chose DTS in the movie language then my reciever and DVD player do the work automatically. You shouldnt have to play with actuall settings in the reciever or dvd player I dont think. Just the language section of the movie itself. I could be wrong but thats what i have to do. I hope this helps ------------------ Thanks, Daryl Gregg MY Home Theatre Page This message has been edited by QUiKSR20 on 12-04-2001 at 10:58 AM
Danartdis
Thanks Daryl, I am waiting for replies here in the forums and to be honest, if I have to watch movies in Dolby Digital it wont be bad its just that I would like to have all my options. I suspect its a problem with the HK unit and have already sent a couple of emails to them. Sent one to JVC regarding the player as well. We will see what happens. Thanks again, Dan
