Hey Tom,

Which of the 800-series Altec drivers
will sound most like a 902-8B? What is the difference between
xxx-8A and xxx-8B? Can I change the diaphragm in an 808-8A to
make is sound and perform like a 902-8B on 511B? If I can, what
diaphragm do I need?

I thought a 902 was an 802 with a mud magnet.

I
want to build another FH-1/511B system to be the center channel to my
other two in a small auditorium in our new church building.
I've been given permission to build that system and I'm going to build
a theater for "Date Night". It will have 3 Peav-tecs across the
front, two KP-480 subs (18" with 15" PR) and something like Heresies
for surrounds. The mains will also serve as PA for other
events. There are several 511Bs on ebay with various drivers and
I don't know the differences.
