Quintet III crossover question.

I just purchased a set of quintet III's, and was wondering what the optimal crossover setting on my amp would be for this set up. I am running them on a yamaha htr-5940, in combination with a Klipsch sub-10. I have read different recomendations anywhere from 80hz(which seems a little out of whack) to 120hz. I am pretty maticulous about maintaining my things, and I just don't want to beat on the speakers.

Also I was wondering If I should be concerned that the speakers are only rated for 50 watts rms, and my amp is rated at 105 watts rms per channel. Obviously I won't be cranking up the amp to full volume or anything, but at somewhat normal listening levels will this shorten the lives of the speakers.

I really like the set up alot! I have the crossover at 100hz now, which I think sounds pretty good. I had a Kenwood 5.1 set up that's like eight years old, and the Quitns(with the sub-10) and the Yammy blow it away(no surprises). I just wanted a fairly affordable set up that sounds good, and in the price range (less than a $1000) there isn't anything comparable IMO.

My only concern with purcahsing the set up is with the durability. As I noted in my original post, My yamaha reciever is rated at 105 watts rms, and the quints are rated at 50 watts rms (75 for the center channel). With other equipment I have owned, this is usually a recipe for disaster, but my salesman (and countless others) swear up and down that it won't make a difference. I guess I kinda believe them, because after all they are Klipsch speakers, but time will tell.

I should also note that the the synergy sub-10 is godly! It is easily the best 10" subwoofer I have heard in a comparable price range, very nice piece of equipment at a good price.

You could blow you speakers if you crank it way too loud, stay below 0 on the volume as a general rule of thumb. The Quintents can take quite a beating for their size and I would not worry about harming them with the crossover set as it is. If you hear any distortion or see that the cones are moving alot then up the crossover or turn it down. I wouldn't worry; through, just don't get too ridiculously loud and enjoy your new system.
BTW: The yammie is rated at 105 but that is a bloated rating.
