Building a HT piece by piece

I have about $1,500 to start building my HT. I was just wandering

in what order you would buy the speakers. Would you buy the receiver

and mains first, then the center then the rear speakers. When would you

get the bass.

As my budget allowed, I would obtain HT components in this order.

1. Receiver and mains (use phantom center mode on receiver)

2. Sub

3. Center

4. Surrounds

This is just my opinion, I'm sure others may differ.

here is how I did it(first time round)..

1).receiver(cheap used one, upgrade later, can be had for $200 for really decent unit)

2) rest of budget on mains....Rf82, RF7 perhaps

3) RC62 center..most important speaker for HT use by a mile!

4) depends on how lacking your bass is at this point...you decide sub or surrounds

Which one is better the RF82 or the RF7?

The Rf7 by far..the 83 replaced it in the current lineup. Not sure what the 7's go for now, I have seen lots of prices, an online search should help there, make sure its an authorized dealer.
