Klipsched with Yamahas
Difficult to assess since some of the II's came w/different drivers, but from what I've read recently, seems most people prefer the III"s. I've heard I's but not a set of III's yet, so I cannot provide you an honest answer.
pmsummer
Cornwall Is. No plastic (at least not on mine). I've heard Is, IIs, and IIIs. The IIIs are very impressive. I have the Is. People are very impressed when they hear them.

pmsummer
PM, Nice kit... I love simplicity!!! Thanks for the reply. Thanks. One of these days I'll get a cartridge for that Thorens, and then I bet it will all sound really great! Seriously, the key to getting Cornwalls is to buy new, or to get a pair locally that you can pick up. The IIIs are really nice, but for 30% of the price, you can get some used ones that sound as or almost as good. Series Is will need new capacitators in the crossovers. As John Calvin was fond of saying, "Good luck!"

LoudnClear
i prefer the traxtric horn in the 2 haven't heard a 3 ....... 1's .. sound honky in the mids Duke: I'm pretty sure stock cornwall IIs all have exponential horns, mine do, and the cornwall II archive page here on klipsch confirms that. are you talking about forte II and chorus IIs, they do have the tractrix. The cornwall III tweeter horn is tractrix, while the squawker horn is exponential.
