robertparker
I have 2 sb12 subwoofers and the Yamaha 2700 receiver.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I heard that you dont need to plug both rca connectors in This true Thanks
getech
You are right...a sub is mono and as a result you need just one rca connector to be plugged into either input. Cheers!

slclem
My Velodyne sub goes into standby mode after a certain amount of inactivity. They recommend using a splitter for connection to L&R as LFE signals can be low when the volume is set low and sometimes this is not enough to wake up the sub. Supposedly making both connections helps.
robertparker
i tried it last night. it seemed to lose volume with just one pluged it. this weekend im going to used the video essentials and a sound meter too see for sure
Guest BobG
If you connect both L and R RCAs you typically get 6 dB more output, but it's the same thing as using a single RCA and setting the volume on the sub higher assuming you have enough total gain to get the volume you desire. If you run short of volume use a Y connector or run both L & R RCAs
