Klipsch-daddy
I have studied both of these units and the only difference I can see is that the 1000 has more dsp's and the 800 weights 2 lbs more? My dealer told me he would go down to 640.00 plus tax on the 1000 and I can get a 800 on etronics for 489.00 plus shipping... I am going to buy one this weekend. rhawki
Here's a quick comparison chart from Yamaha http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/compare/recvr_4.htm Looks like there is a diff in the DAC's and a couple other things like pre-outs and 5 vs 6 ch stereo. -Rich
toddvj
The RX-V1000 can do 6.1, the RX-V800 cannot. The RX-V800 is sometimes advertised as 6.1, but it only does a phantom 6.1 (ala Sony). The RX-V1000 truly does 6.1, but you need a seperate amp to power the rear center.
