48n123w
I currently have a Sony STR-DE597 and am looking at a used Yamaha RX-V1500. Would this be a good step up? If so, what's a fair price range? specs for both receivers below, many thanks! Islander
The extra 20 watts of power may not be all that noticeable, but going from .7% THD to .04% THD should be very obvious, plus you'd be going from 6.1 to 7.1. I'd call it a worthwhile upgrade. For prices, you could check Canuck Audio Mart at http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/search.php?submit=1&keywords=Yamaha
oldbuckster
Bottom line here.....The Yamaha will sound better in 2 channel than the Sony.....they both should sound good in Home Theatre Mode
