How much will a pair of Klipsch Chorus II benefit from new capacitors in the crossover?

I think my Bottlehead 300B amps will do a good job. I

will upgrade the capacitors with some Polypropylene. How good

depends on how long I wait (though the 68uf is going to be a Solen, no

doubt about that).

I would have thought dampening the cabinets with stuffing would screw up the passive radiators? Wrong?

"...when an $150 Rane and an additional amp or two would offer MUCH more substantial improvements for less money!"

I have personal experience with a cheap Rane set up, and it was some of the grittiest, nastiest sound I've ever heard. The only good thing about it was that it prompted me to turn the damn system off and put my passives back in.

The Chorus has a junk electrolytic as the primary input cap for the whole high pass section, which feeds two epoxy coated oval metallized mylars for the tweeter. If you think this is as good as it gets, then yeah, might as well go for the cheap Rane set up!

I'm all for treating a room, but it doesn't bring to the table what good parts in the filter do.
