HudsonValleyNoah
Out looking for some 6L6-GB and/or 12AX7 Tubes when I come upon NOTHING, NOTHING AND MORE NOTHING. Almost every place I stop, I get the two headed look. I say "Do you have any old tube equipment?" She looks at me like I got 2 heads. "Is your husband around?" She says "Oh, OK, I'll get him" Says I to him "Do you have any old tube equipment?" Says he "No" long pause "but I have a box full of tubes..." EEEEEEEK! "You bet" says he with a toothless grin, "Give me your phone number and I will call you when I dig it out..." Hmmmmm. Well, I am about half way done cataloging it. lwhaples
Nice! My yard sale find got me a tester that I won't test any of the tubes I want it to and three boxes of tubes that I have no use for. But,still fun to hunt.My Dad turned me on to this sale last summer. Soon after he was said to have ALS,so even though there isn't much there. I will keep them as a memory. He has gotten to where he can't do anything on his own.Life can be hard. Cool find on your part! HudsonValleyNoah
OK, no tube tester (darn!) No "100 Bugle Boy's" but there was one (!) Over 2/3 of the tubes have no selling history in "completed auctions' on Ebay. On the other hand almost 1/3 of them DO have a history of selling on Ebay. As soon as i can get a good tube tester (or at least an OK tester...) Ebay is where these will go. Here is a picture of the 1/3 that sell (except those RCA 12DQ6B's that are just in there because these are too tall to fit elsewhere.) Like I said, i over paid the fellow but I hope to get my $$ back via the bay. It was a huge rush when he said he had a box of tubes - lol I really need to learn to stay CALM... SERENITY NOW ! SERENITY NOW ! lol
ErikL
Cool Find ! As a guitar hacker, some of these less familiar tubes are also used in guitar amps. If you list them on the Marshall or Fender forums, you should get a lot of interest. Did you get my pm ?
