I got my 4.1's...

Welp,

I bought them yesterday morning... Didn't get to set them up till RIGHT before work today and still didn't get to turn them on, (at around 6pm) Then didn't get home till about 11pm.. Well you could say I was dying to hook them up. So far I love them.. they are the loudest things I have heard in my life. I can't even turn the volume knob up 2cm without getting blow away. If you looked at the volume switch you would think it was actually turned down all the way..lol I work at Best Buy so I got them at a pretty decent price in my opinion and I got our 4 year performance plan.. so if anything does go wrong in 4 years, I will just take them back and get new ones :-) I had Boston Acustic Digit speakers and thought those were loud...haha I just wanted to say thanks for answering all my questions on here :-) My ONLY complaint is these stupid *** mini plugs going into each speaker... WHY couldn't they just be regular speaker jacks like on the sub? They are really touchy too, so if you jiggle the mini plug they kinda of crackle.. but as long as you don't move them once you have them set they rock :-)

What's funny is I almost didn't buy them because our floor models suck wang.. litterly, you have the volume turned up and they aren't loud, you have the bass turned up all the way, and you hardly hear anything..etc.. PLUS I touched the sub right in the back and it burnt my index finger... They are around 2 years old though and the floor model, so everyone does beat them to hell unfortantly. But so far my sub isn't hot at all :-)

So far so good :-)

Props to ya guys at Klipsh... just change the darn mini jacks..yuck ~

Your sub should be a bit warm after they warm up. The louder and longer you run them the warmer they'll get. BUT, they shouldn't get so hot that you can't hold your hand on them. If so, I would check with Klipsch about this. My 4.1's have performed wonderfully, with the exception of the "dirty pot" sound with the main volume knob. Though once it is set where you want them they are fine. My sub only gets slightly warm. Do not set (or sit) anything on top of it while they are in use. This will make it run a bit warmer than usual. Mine have the wires that run directly into the back of the sattelites. No jacks. The plug that goes into the back of the sub sometimes vibrates loose to where the left front sat quits working. Just push it back in some and this will stop. Try contact spray cleaner on all of your jacks, and even on the master volume knob. I did and it helps. I can't say that it is recomended though. Check with your Klipsch tech before doing this.

I cannot complain any about my 4.1's since I got them for $100.00 new! Enjoy...KLIPSCH is KING! MERRY CHRISTMAS!cwm16.gif

that best buy 4 year plan is crap, we bought a sony digi cam and the 4 year plan cause the saleskid told us if it broke, we'd exchange it for a new one no questions asked.

so we go on vacation, and after 2 weeks of

skiing, 4wheeling, and boating, the camera started not accessing the disk correctly, we took it to bb, they sent it for repair. we then go a call telling us it would be 200 dollars worth of labor, and a 400 dollar disk drive. whick is about the sane priice that we paid for the camera..... so, we paid for a camara that doesnt work, and a service plan that is useless

Jake,

Sorry to hear that.. that's very odd. I could understand if you dropped the camera or something like that, but if it just doesn't access the disk that's not your fault... talk to the manager or even the GM of the store.. But I would definatly look more into that, because that is the purpose of the 4 year psp... covers basiclly everything but abuse..

On a plus note, I just upgrade my wiring to my Klipsch's 4.1's to the gold mini jacks and used my spare spool of monster speaker wire... I think it's a lot better now.. NOMORE crackling if you jiggle the damn little mini jack on the back of the speaker :-)

I'll get pics up as soon as I get my webcam tomorrow :-)

  • 1 month later...

Some products are sent out to the manufacturer to be serviced but a lot are just exchanged on the spot as long as the consumer didn't abuse them. Speakers are a good thing to buy the plan on because it's pretty hard to abuse speakers, if you blow them they're covered, if they overheat, they're covered. The camcorder problems you had should have been covered as long as you didn't drop it. BTW, I used to work at best buy.
