what exactly are you willing to spend?

if you have enough, my suggestion would be to go the home theater way, either based on your computer or not.

are you going to use a TV or your PC monitor for video? how big is the room? and your budget? and how close are you going to be to the speakers? etc...

Okay, um, since it's only gonna be for you, you might just want to get the 4.1's and be done with it...this is the most versatile gaming/dvd setup for a single person that can place speakers near them.

However, if you want to turn your computer (i don't know why...with those specs...perfect for gaming) into a system that's GREAT at mp3's, cd's, and DVD's, but doesn't have positional audio for games, you may want to consider a professional sound card, such as the audiophile 2496, and connecting it to a reciever (i dunno what; check out www.hometheaterforum.com and www.avsforum.com ), and connecting it to a set of speakers that's better than the Quintets, such as, say, Definitive Technology's ProCinema 80's.

You can also just get the 4.1 pro's, keep your sound card, get the Audiophile 2496, install BOTH sound cards, and switch between them for games and DVD's.

BUT GO TO THOSE FORUMS I SUGGESTED IF YOU WANNA MAKE A HTPC (Home Theater PC)!
