mfk
It finally happened, I had a Klipsch breakdown, a crossover died in my Heresy II's, and I had to call Bob Crites and son in for emergency. Pound for pound, when it comes to the bottom line, the Heresy II's do kick the boo-boo out of my RF-52's/RC-52/RW10D. When Bob sends me the new crossovers, I am going to use the Heresy II's as front channel, the RC-52 and the RW-10D. I didn't know what I was missing until I did a side by side comparison. Although I still like the RF series, they may nor last the 22 years my Heresy II's have, at least not in this house. Darn, I can't wait to get them working again. Bill H.
Mark, If I am reading correctly, the sound stage of the RC 52 works with the Heresy's? Or is this a leap of Faith?
mfk
Total leap of faith once I get the new crossovers from Bob Crites. I don't know if timbre will blend or not...if i doesn't the RC goes on the auction block with the RF-52's the RW-10D will hopefully blend as well...I like the idea and sound of the center channel, but not at the sake of compromising fidelity. Arky
Wish you luck but a rc-7 didn't play nice at all with my heritage.
Bill H.
This Center channel Idea brings back my Caveat that Klipsch needs to Create a Center channel speaker for the CW's, Heresy's and K Horns ! Something sedate, that won't take up lots of floor space.............
mfk
Yea, I started looking on craigslist and other sources for another pair of HII's to go along with pair 1..I have even offered to trade the whole RF/RC/RW for a half good pair of HII's locally, so no shipping is involved. Don't get me wrong, I like the RF series, but I have been listening to the Heritage series since I was a kid back in '62, some things just grow on you. I miss that open sound more than I realized. My girlfriend prefers the Reference series, but I own the place so it's my decision. http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/ele/524770716.html, make that a cosmetically acceptable, well working pair of HII's. Scratches are no worry, risers preferred. Will swap one HII in good condition w/riser for all RF/RC stuff.
