jacksonbart
So what is the consensus? Are Metal better than Plastic? Should we all switch? Thanks in advance.
LoudnClear
I don't recall hearing of anyone having to rope-caulk-wrap their plastic midhorns. My plastic midhorns are beautiful. But the metal mid horns on my heresy I's are also beautiful. Kimball
Johnlw7
My thoughts have always been this.Would a great jazz musican use plastic horns in a trumpet or sax?I don't think so.I have a pair of 1974 Belles and Original Fortes with metal horns.I think they are superior the the plastic ones.I don't here the ringing that many people talk about. oldbuckster
If metal is so good why do people wrap them ? What difference other than personal preference does metal make ? If your crossovers are bad, it doesn't make any difference.
Johnlw7
I never have wrapped mine.I guess it's just a personal preference.I have both Forte originals and Forte II and Quartets and kept the originals.
oldbuckster
Many people must have the METAL horns, and that's fine, that's what choice is all about. I would just like to know why they think metal is better, facts, not preference ................. I don't think the average ear can tell the difference, are my Cornwalls any less a speaker because they have plastic horns? Ol' Jacksonbart might have started one here .............. EH ?.....6 of one, half dozen of the other !!!!!!!!!
