bigdnfay
Ha Guys, Was listening to my setup and noticed a slight intermitent buzzing coming from one of the mid-drivers. unscrewed the driver from the horn, gave it a little shake and it sounds like a bb or drop of solder between the diaphram dome and the bug screen. Is there any safe way to remove the bugscreen without destroying it? looks like they have been pressed in and very secure. any ideas? bigdnfay
Al Klappenberger
Bigdnfay, I don't think you can get the bug screen out without destroying it, but I am not sure. You may have crud in the magnetic gap too. That will casue buzzing. I think you may have to remove the screws, pull it apart and take the diaphragm out to be sure. AL K. johnnyp
The bug screen on my K-55V was pressed in. I was able to remove it, without damaging it, by using a small blade knife and a little patience. If you attempt it, pry the chrome ring that contains the screen from its outside edge, not the screen itself. Incidentally, although the K-55V sounds clearer sans bug screen, it also sounds noticeably louder. Too loud, in fact, w/o a crossover tweak, so I re-installed it. ------------------ John Packard
