ptpskm
I'm bi-amping my RC-7s (used as L/R Fronts) with a 60 watt per channel B&K 2500. I'm using a Y cable and sending the same signal to the HF and LF speaker connections. My amp has level controls and I currently have both HF and LF conncections turned all the way up. I am wondering if I am sending too much power to the tweeter? Should I use the level controls and reduce the volume going to the tweeter? Thanks for any help. aab3rd
Along these same lines, I have thought about using a tube amp for top and my SS (Marantz MM9000) for the bottom. The Marantz has level controls, so what needs to be done to get the correct output from top and bottom. Have I made my question clear? Colin
I too am headed in this direction, we will need SPL meter to properly balance the output of the upper section with the woofer. The woofer will also need something like 10 the RMS power to match the mid and tweeter horns ... ------------------ Colin's Music System Cornwall 1s & Klipsch subs; lights out & tubes glowing! aab3rd
SPL i got, test disc (Avia) with frequency sweep I ain't. Is this what is needed (or is that a dumb question)? Colin, are you saying that the SS should be about 10X the power of the tube?
