headliner
I am trying to id these Cornwalls. I have been told they are 1978 models. The serial number and model designation is: CD-BR 15S748 and C-BR 16S449. Can you explain the letter meanings(CD_BR/C_BR), year of manufacture and significance of the numbers not being consecutive? They have black grills with the Klipsch logo in the middle on a metal tag. Thanks...
edster00
Okay, the S in the serial # does denote 1978, a great year! The letters C-BR mean Cornwall Birch Raw I believe. I am not sure what the CD-BR means unless the one with that designation is a "designer" series...do they both look the same? The desiner series didn't use grill cloth, just bare wood (the grill cloth could be added later). I would not be too worried about non-consecutive serial #'s, I have a pair of Heresy's I bought new in '78 that were a special order finish. They match but they do't have consecutive serial #'s. ------------------ Ed W
Mike Lindsey
The "D" does indeed mean Designer series... Mike ------------------ My Music Systems
