ch1d3th
As I posted here, my 5.1's won't power up after an electrical storm. It seems that I need to replace a MOV (metal oxide varistor) in my 500 W subwoofer. I am capable of soldering a connection, but I don't know what type of MOV I need or where to buy one. Any advice would be enormously appreciated.
erickoegle
stolen from stpetecooling: " The part number is 14D181K, where the 14 refers to the physical size, and the 181 refers to the voltage. You can find an alldata sheet on it. As I recall it is 115 volts, and 50 joules, peak of 4500 amps (I'm not positive about the final numbers). It is a basic, conservatively rated protector for North American electronics. "
