Compatible with other satellites?

Hey guys. I don't have my Promedias yet, but I know from a friend who does that they use speaker clips to hook up the satellites. Because of that, could I plug in other speakers (such as some of the smaller Klipsch bookshelves) and get satisfactory results? Or was this system made only to work with it's satellites? Thanks in advance.

The amp may not deliver enough power to drive different/larger speakers. Before doing that, I would seriously consider just running the PM system exactly how it comes - I promise you will NOT be disappointed in it's performance or the full-range sound it delivers, with one hell of a kick. I used to run JBL 4408's and an NAD amp as my studio monitor/post production rig, and replaced it with the Klipsch PM 2.1. VERY well suited for the job, and honestly probably the next best thing to the Genelec 3-piece monitor system costing over $3k.

I agree, I also have a Recording Studio and I was using Rokit Powered Monitors sine my studio is portable and thery are pretty small and easy to move around, but the Klipsch PM 2.1's seemed to have a better over all sound for mixing and listening to playback. although they are not as high output I think you will find they are loud enough, and very clear. Recently I have even went a step below them and in a smaller more portable setup than my usual I use the Klipsch Groove speakers, they also have a great sound and are even more portable, amazing low end sound with good consistant highs, I don't know how they do it, these speakers don't even have a tweeter, WAY TO GO KLIPSCH!!!!

of course at home I have a Frankenstein system with Several Klipsch systems, and JBL Speakers powered by Carvin Amps. it can get a little crazy if I want it to, but the sound is amazing!
