Audio shops in DC

I haven't gone to many local shops, and it seems they get less satisfactory the higher-end you go. I don't know what prices you're thinking of, but Tweeter has a nice place in Rockville, and I'd suggest them first. Graffiti is somewhat OK, as a less-expensive place. SoundWorks in Kensington, MD, covers the spectrum from reasonably middle-end to dramatically high-end, and it can be good if you happen to get the right salesperson.

As you can see, I haven't been to DC shops.

In VA, the only one I've seen is Deja Vu, which is definitely high-end with an esoteric product line, but is very good and attentive. Boulevard Audio has a smallish number of high-end products (Transfiguration, Basis). I'd guess that neither is your cup of tea.
