USlatin
All of a sudden they went out with a funny noise. Now I can turn them on and off, the numbers on the volume move but I only get a whistle out of them which doesn't get louder or lower with volume settings... the high pitch whistle also seems to pulsate and if I wait several seconds there is a different pulse that seems to involve the woofers... al of this is very low, no loud sounds comming out at all... certainly no actual sound. I took a look inside and coudn't see anything bune or out of the ordinary... can you guys help, pease? Do you want pictures? Want me to record and post the noise? Let me know what I can do to fix this baby. Thank you.

USlatin
OK... here are the sounds: On, a few seconds, Off (it may sound like it but there is no clipping on this one) Same but much more crackling (sorry about all the clipping) FYI, the rear pannel was not screwed on, but I certainly don't believe that any of the noise was from it moving. I had the box placed verticaly so as to have the weight of the amp pulling it down shut. Both had the microphone placed on the mouth of the breathing hole. mcarpe
I used this local resource: http://www.elliot-tronics.com/ great service and nice guy. My sub was dead, tried to replacing the fuse with no luck and I was out of warranty. My sub now works thanks to Elliot. I recommend his services. USlatin
OK, so they sent me an e-mail right away: 5.1 TROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS Thank you for contacting Klipsch. Do you have the 5.1 THX or the 5.1 Ultra? I am listing some trouble shooting tips to help you narrow down the problem. 1. Check the volume setting on your software program and the volume control on your controller. 2. Plug a set of headphones into your audio out jack on your computer. Are you getting good sound on the headphones? If not you might need to check your sound card. 3. Check your din cable to make sure none of the pins are bent, missing, etc. Make sure all of your other connections are clean and secure. 1. Plug a set of headphones into your controller(make sure it is set to hp mode). If you do not get good left/right sound over your headphones you may have a controller problem. On the other hand if you do get good left/right sound the problem may be in your subwoofer amp. If the controller is your problem I am listing a link below to our website where you can purchase a new one. The controller costs $33.39. If the amp is your problem you may contact us at 1-888-554-5665 for repair. The Ultra repair cost is $125.00. The THX repair cost is $125.00. The fee includes parts, labor and return shipping to you(continental US only). You would pay for shipping to us. The average turn around time is from 4 to 6 weeks. All repairs come with a 90 day warranty. http://www.klipsch.com/shop/lists/parts.aspx What suxs is that my amp is the problem, and that the $125 + one way shipping for 4-6 week turnaround on something I used only for about 6 months is REAL CRAPPY... I'll be selling this system so let me know if anyone is interested before or after repair. Before repair is preferred. Say... $200 + shipping? Mister_Clean
So, around $250 for a busted Klipsch 5.1 system? Good luck with that! lol. you can however get that much for it if everything is in good working order. But I doubt you will get even close to that with it busted.
