Wishbone
I have 2 forte II's with serial #'s148293674 &675 oak clr.One had a nick on top front edge.I repair it & rubbed a little oak stain with a rag.I can send picks if someone is interested. The other is fine & they both sound great! My Home Theater system consists of 2 black Forte II's in front,The oaks are in rear, only because they do not match the black stand Pioneer elite is on.I have a Forte I oiled oak on stand (for center),i wish i had an academy(black). The Plasma sits on top of Forte I.The system sounds awesome .I think it would look better in all black.I planned on painting the 2 Forte II's & Forte' I.I wanted to give anyone in the forum a chance to trade,if not i"ll just paint them, after all the info i recieved from this great forum on how to do it. Groomlakearea51
If no-one trades, just remove the drivers, lightly sand them, fill any "nicks", and "shoot em' with a nice semi-gloss black lacquer (OPEX/ Valspar #40 - #45 sheen). If you don't have a compressor and a finishing gun, your local paint store, automotive supplier, or home depot should carry the "refillable" professional grade spray cans used by automotive finishers for detail work. Get a couple of those and practice, etc and you should be able to do quite a presentable job. Talk to your auto body folks, they might "shoot" them for you. A cabinet maker may also do it for you. Depends if lacquer is still legal for commercial applications in Connecticut.
