You're used to a two-way speaker with your KGs so the RFs should sound more alike than different I would imagine. You'll be amazed at the difference in sound between the RW-12d and your Definitive sub. I used to have a Definitive sub and back then I thought it was the cat's pajamas. When I got my SVS I couldn't believe my ears at first. Finally I had a subwoofer that actually played at different frequencies instead of one loud boom boom note.
