  1. Nevermind think I read wrong. So the new line will be called the Klipsch base line?

I'll be honest, I'm not liking what I'm hearing and am a bit disappointed. We heard several months ago about a new "Reference" line. Now it's a "Reference line that's more economical for the masses."

I'll try to be patient and withhold opinion until product release.

Without giving too much away, It'll be a multi-tier line. Something for everybody. Some folks who went to the demos could verify that the sound on them (even the "entry level" units) were pretty freaking stellar. We are talking about a big-time improvement.

I appreciate the explanation Chad. Honestly I get excited for every new product Klipsch brings to the table, so I apologize for being so subjective. I've just been holding off on some other purchases in case there is a speaker in the new line that I have to have!

As Amy said, the current Reference line is sticking around for a little longer. The stuff coming out in July is still well worth looking into. Judging from your signature you might just find they fit one of your upgrading needs!

  3. So who has some pics of these new reference series speakers??? I know someone does. I'm dying to know what the new models are gonna be.

If they do have them, they broke the rules.

No pics were allowed in most of the demo areas.

The good news is you won't have to wait too long to see the first of the new products being released. It's coming very soon.

  4. Also, I believe it was mentioned, but that pic doesn't include 2 of the groups (including the one I was guiding around), because some people (forumers cough cough) decided to take the opportunity (rightfully so, I GUESS) to pick the brains of Klipsch employees and ask a bunch of questions and geek out a bunch, therefore making the tours go a bit long at the end.

    The nerve.

(obviously I'm joking. was great that we could provide the opportunity. I'm sure we'll be doing it again at some point.)

  5. What type of bean was censored?

    *****

I guess you're the only one that can type it. See the quote

yep, we Admins bypass the filters. Such a perk!

  6. Dang, an actual employee on board the Forum.

    I resent that.

    :)

    That goes double for me!

Also, I think the big takeaway from this thread so far is that we should all refer to Alex as "Alex".

Scratch that... let's refer to him as "Social Butterfly Alex Leopold".

  7. Thanks for the heads up.

We have a synonym-based search system in place that look for common variations/misspellings of actual product names (in this case the actual product names are rb-5 and rb-5 II), but we didn't have "rb5" and "rb5II" put in as synonyms for those 2 products. They are in there now, so they come up in search.

  8. "Personal" v "Private?" Not sure I see the difference

Correct. By definition, they are not mutually exclusive. However, it is still open to interpretation.

Here's a relevant article on TechCrunch. It's more about Facebook's policies (which I find questionable in about every regard), but makes mention of such a "grey area".

    http://techcrunch.com/2012/12/28/theres-a-difference-between-private-and-personal/

The bottom line here is that Klipsch isn't gonna read your PMs, nor do we want to.

Perhaps an exception would be for legal reasons, but I'm no lawyer.

  9. The only way a moderator or admin can read anyone else's PMs is if a PM gets reported via the "report" button. That's it*.

The ONLY other way to see PM content would be through direct access to the database, to which I am currently the only one in the company with access. I've been trusted with keeping the data, so you can trust that I'm not digging through the database tables reading people's PMs. Who has time for that? That said, no PM system is truly private - but we do our best to make it as private as we can. We have no reason to be digging around in there. Why would we?

    * edit: unless an admin were to log in as a member, which is possible with this system. The only Admins are Amy and I, and we don't have a reason to ever do this, except to test member group permission settings, which is the primary reason for that function existing.
