  1. Thanks for the advice, I would've gone with the older Klipsch speakers, I always hear about how great they are, but theyre the size of a fridge to me, and i'm more for modern looks. I just found out the old Reference series are 2 for 1 at good guys this week...now my choices are way outta wack.
  2. Well by temporary I wasnt too clear, I mean just the fronts, center, and sub...no surrounds. And I'm EXTREMELY happy with those reference series, my current home can't accomodate any surrounds due to the weirdass room shape.
  3. I finally decided on the speakers to get for the time being. I'm gonna get the RF 25's, an RC 35, and an RW12. Living room is only 12x12 or so, not to mention weirdly shaped, should be more than enough...if not an overkill, but we're moving in the not too distant future. I would be getting these at Good guys, an authorized dealer, but at 20% off, so that would make it about 1500 bucks for the set, give or take a little bit. Sound good? Or should I explore more options?
  4. Thanks for the insight everyone. He is the kind of guy who just buys without researching, with just about everything he owns, but hopefully I can get him to check out those quintets, and white is a big bonus, out here in so cal, EVERY house is white on the inside
  5. I was gonna take him to Goodguys to hear the Quintets one day, but I just wanted to know what people thought of them first, its a 20 min drive to get there :-s And its all HT for him
  6. Hey everyone! One of my older cousins knows nothing about speakers, only that BOSE would be great, at 1000-1500 bucks, and small, he wants a set. This is where I stepped into the conversation, rather, elaborated more on his other options. I showed him all kinds of floorstandings that he can get, from Reference to Synergy, well..those are the only 2 They didnt like the fact that they were huge, so I was thinking maybe the Reference Sats? Or even the Quintet System with a KSW15 What would you guys recommend?
  7. Where did you get them that cheap?
  8. I'm not some HT genious, but I know the basics. While the Synergy series is nice, if you have the extra cash, i suggest you pick up some Reference, the Rx-35 set (2 RF35, 2 RS35, 1 RC35)is a really nice set to get right now, if you have more cash, you could go with the Rx-5, or the top of the line, Rx-7. If you dont have all that much cash, you could get the Rx15 series, the the next series directly above the synergys. And if possible, get an RSW sub instead of a KSW, HUGE diffence, even between the KSW15 and the RSW10. Hope that helped!
  9. I was sure they were an authorized Klipsch dealer, they had some awesome deals this past week, such as the RSW15 for 1,145, but now I cant find ANY Klipsch products on their site. Am i doing something wrong?
  10. I suggest Monster Cable Z series, that what I'll be buying...many people can argue against Monster saying Generic cable is just as good, but remember, Monster is one of, if not the MOST respected name when it comes to AV cables.
  11. I was thinking about ordering from them, since they have the Rx-35's dirt cheap, anyone have any experiences with em?
  12. I just opened command prompt and typed in netstat, apparently im connected to like 20 different things, yet no programs are open or in the background...doh
  13. Thats insane, cant you just turn everything on high and turn on firewalls and they cant get through?
  14. I dont mind, whichever is fine, but i'd prefer 1 subwoofer only.
  15. I have 4 of these, theyre from the mid 80's, 2 inch tweeters, 4 inch mids, and 12 inch woofers. I was thinking about using them as a temp solution before I get my Rx-35's, does anyone know where I can get ANY info on these speakers? I've check page after page on google, and other search engines, but with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  16. Hey everyone, i've been in a bit of a dillema lately, I was set on the RSW15 since I found it for under 1200 bucks, but after seeing that, I remembered SVS subs can be had around that price also, so my question is this. What would be a comparable SVS sub for around 1000-1200 bucks, with an amp, box or cylinder, 100% HT Thanks!
  17. Wow, you had me thinking you broke it, or shipped it to the wrong address or something, now i'm glad to read it's just an extra day wait! Thanks for letting me know nonetheless, most people just BS and say they got it out, or just make up an excuse, again, thanks for being honest
  18. Let me know how it goes, i've been wondering about AAV, might order from em.
  19. Im reading SVS's site right now, and I was thinking about getting this one http://www.svsubwoofers.com/subs_pci_20-39.htm Think i'd be satisfied with it? on some of the subs, it shows the price of the sub itself, then with amp...do I need an amp? I thought it was built in? Anyhow, congrats on the purchase!
  20. How far did you talk em down from/to? Cause they want like, 2600 for 2 RF35c, 2 RS35, RC35, and RSW10...ouch! I can get R7s for nearly that.
  21. I had a chance to check out the new Reference at Good Guys, huge improvement, but GG charges an arm and a leg. Anyone know where to get them for cheaper? Searches on all search engines yeild nothing Thanks
