  1. Since I aquired the almost free RF-7's I decided to get a bigger tv..then needed a new stand for the tv..Now I need a bigger center channel and then a bigger sub. Free never costed so much lol
  2. Smokarz as I been saying in the forum for the past few weeks, the Denon amps selling under 800 this year are not a good bargan and compared to other brands dont sound as good. All the pros agree they have the best upconversion ..yes...but sound quality no. IF your going to cut your receiver to 100hz or less and have a good SUBwoofer to take the load off ,then I would say your probably ok with either choice though.
  3. If you got the 62's for less than $600 NIB..thats a good deal. I see the 52's at that price but never the 62's.
  4. I recently purchased a quintet speaker system with a sub-10 ...The quintets are great but the sub-10 was DOA. I bought the unit from a guy off craiglist..I agreed to meet him half way between his and my house to make it easier on both of us ( I normally want to test first) I called him back and told him about the dead sub.. He came over the next day and gave me $100 back (Ive already sent out the bad amp to Klipsch for the $60 refurb) . If you havent yet, Contact the previous owner and tell him what it will cost to replace it. I was lucky but u never know...
  5. Mark this year the Pioneer 1019 stands out in front with its sound quality at the price point. Not to mention its apple certified..Comes with ipod dock, has great up conversion and abselutly sounds better than anything else this year in this price range. The forum members are giving great advice but some are a bit bias to there previous ownerships. Beleive me the market at this time..The pioneer 1019 is the best buy @ 500 - Monty
  6. Klipsch is swapping amps for the sub-10 only, ($60 including shipping) as far as Im aware of. Due to a massive design flaw. I only have a ksw 10 I dont think I can be of help to you. But I wanted to chime and and give you credit for taking the time out to do a repair like this instead of tossing it.
  7. Klipsch ksw 10 ( mostly music but does well with HT in a 10x10 room)... ksw 12 ( better for HT 20x20 room) martin logan Dynamo is very punchy ( sealed enclousure better for music) good sub! The newer klipsch subs -- SW-350 and SW-450 ( 8 and 10' woofers) they are good products as far as I can tell..The SW-450 has some good low bass. The 450 I would recommend for your 15 x22 room..Great combo with the Quintets I have the ksw 10 with my quintets its an awesome combo.( and cheap to come by).. stay away from the sub-10 synergy subs ..they have design flaws and failures quite often -Monty PS In the future you might want to inqure about subwoofers in the subwoofer category for a better and faster response from forum members ..Welcome to the forum!
  8. the Avatar pic says: " I thought you said you dont mind the employees listening to music at work?' LOL looking at the yamaha website u pasted carbon..i can only think ..why does yamaha have so many receivers to choose from..it makes it so hard to choose with a million choices fcs... If i was to pick one from that list ...I would go with the RX-V1900... I like the flip down face plate
  9. it looks descent smokarz. Its hard to find a good powerful receiver under 500 bucks now with the new formats. If you find a good one let me know man
  10. thres just something about merlot zebra skin ... when i finally dont have budget restraints holding me back..every room will have zebra skin..lol
  11. when I hit an oil gusher in my back yard it wont be khorns...it will be zebra skin all the way around[]
  12. peshewah : I did'nt know the 1803 had pre outs on it. Threw my researching I noticed none of the low end Denon amps have pre outs. You have to get into the mid range receivers. Although Pioneer entry level receivers have pre outs. For me, what ever amp I decide to use for a sound processor is going to have to have the new formats (Dolby true HD). Smokarz. I'm still not sure yet what the best solution is for me. There is a 2808 near me on ebay, the seller has it at 350 . So far no bids..Looks mint too. Im still not sure about the emotiva either. Im just throwing ideas around in my head right now. If I go with an AV receiver for pre amp and emotiva for amp im looking at almost 1k. I might go for a two channel Denon intergrated amp A class A/B switched. I had one of those b4 and it was awesome. I might use the Denon integrated to run the mains (RF-7's) and the AV receiver to pick up the rest of the system.
  13. Im pushing RF-7's I think I really need more head room..Also this receiver dosent break the 30lb mark..It would make a good pre amp with the sound modes ( True HD and so on ) thanks guys !
  14. guys pls help me out b4 I decide to buy this. Can I hook the emotiva 3 channel amp into this denon 2808..I wanted to use the Denon for pre amp sound processing only. http://www.usa.denon.com/AVR-2808CILit_830.pdf
  15. system is still in progress. Getting new amp soon..Possibly Denon integrated amp to go with the RF-7's. what can I say...two beautiful daughters and two beautiful speakers..Its a great life!
  16. quad ive no experiece with the mono blocks or the pioneers..What I can tell you is the RF-3's have the nicest midrange sound in the reference series ..in my opinion...You just cant go wrong with them
  17. Smokarz, I brought some things back from Thailand when I went to visit my wifes family. I bought things like jade snuff bottles (and other jade carvings), a totem , that statue and a few other items ...I love asian artifacts
  18. Just send the check to... What amp are you considering? Bill here on the forum offered me a pair of marantz monoblocks..but i have no experience with them.. Bonzo says he might be selling his HK 3490..so far those are my choices
  19. hey Mr Rf.. Selling the RS 62's to buy a new amp .I cant listen to the rf 7's until I get something stout enough to push them. In the end ill keep the RF 7s for two channel and the quintets/sub for home theater.. Ive got some good solid advice from the forum members here on amps to use...thank god good advice is for free..other wise wuzzer and a bunch others would be millionares by now
  20. Tim Right off the bat I can tell you The bass will defenitly over power the KLF's... The 20's are not so power demanding. They were sounding great on my 3805.. The three way is always a nice dynamic sound over the two way. ALTHOUGH when paired up with the proper amp I think these RF 7's can do incredible things. The magnets on the drivers look like the chorus II's I had and there 15's.. Ive never had a pair of floor speakers vibrate my clothes while sitting in the middle of them...The RF 7's are the real deal. For pure unquestionable power and detail..with a tall slim look..the RF-7's are commanding Thanks all for your help really appreciate it..Good to hear from you Bonzo..thanks for the pm.
  21. I have a pair of rs 52's for sale Blubit, in garage sale...http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/130770.aspx
  22. Thanks guys,,,i figured as much. I was just reading a thread in home theater RF 7 owners talk about amp drop off with low midrange bass causing the harshness.. I think thats whats going on. I listened to them for about an hour and it took 2 hours for my ears to stop ringing lol The yammy has pre outs and I just might sell the RS 52's and buy an external amp How about the HK 3390 with over 100 amps 100 watts for 300 bucks.
