  1. How much are you asking for them? V/R G-Money
  2. Hi KJ, I am accually in Okinawa, an island to the south of the mainland...not quite as hip as Tokyo. I have looked this island high and low for a decent audio shop, to no avail. Back in the 80's and early 90's, the base exchange had all the top-of-the-line stereo equipement. Unfortunatly, the exchange sold out to the needs of the officer corps...the best I can find now is BOSE (YUK!!!).
  3. Good day forum members, kind of a tricky question here. I have noticed Klipsch (and other popular speaker companies)has gone away from 3 way speakers and using smaller woofers in there more recent lines, is the mid-range and 15" woofers a thing of the past? Has speaker technology come this far that a tweeter and an 8" woofer can produce as well as a tweeter, mid-range and 15" woofer? Could it be more people are looking for a stricking piece of furniture as aposed to quality sound? I have a hard time believing that the RF-7 for instance can compete on the same level as my Chorus II's in a blind taste test. What do you think Paul Klipsch opinion would be on this subject? I ask this as I will not have the oppertunity to audition the latest speaker lines for some time. I am stationed in Japan and will be here for several years. Your thoughts would be much appriciated, thanks.
  4. Thanks for clarifying Tom V.; 22 or 19htz, it still kicks butt. I dought very seriously I would ever attemt to check the tuning, I will take your word.
  5. Hmmm....than perhaps the word "powered" should be omited from the topic name since all subs are powered in one way or another and to aliviate confusion. I guess my whole argument is, either way you look at it, powered should not be in the forum name.
  6. That is what was told to me by Tom V., of course I have no way of knowing what it is tuned to.
  7. Also, I was just being sarcastic with my original post, I just thought it had to be said. Seems kind of silly to name the forum "powered subwoofers". I thought just "subwoofers" would have worked just fine.
  8. Tank, I am yet to find the limit. I play my music and movies extreamly loud and the sub doesn't feel overwork or realy tested at all. Please keep in mind the sub placement is in a corner with concrete walls...I don't know if these conditions would affect accoustics more positively.
  9. Good day all, I currently have a passive sub and noticed the forum topic is powered subwoofers. My question is...would it be alright to post here concerning my passive sub? Thanks. Fronts: Chorus II Center: KLF-C7 Rears: SS-1 Sub: SVS 25-31 CS (tuned to 19 htz) Yamaha AVR-2300 Carver Power Amp-350W per at 8 ohms 2 Denon Mono Amps-135w at 8 ohms Sony 300 X CD player Pioneer Karoke DVD player
  10. Good day all, I have been waiting for my sub (25-32 CS tuned to 22hz) for about 3 weeks now...getting sent overseas to Japan. FYI for military folks, SVS offers 10% off to the military, just let Tom V. know. V/R G-Money
  11. Craig, got my center speaker, it looks and sounds great, thanks for the great deal!!! I still have not got my sub or surround speakers yet...hope I didn't get screwed.
  12. You also might want to try a KLF-C7, I just got mine and it matches up very well with my Chorus II's. You can usually pick one up for under $300...higher sensitivity rating than the Academy as well. Good luck, G-Money
  13. UPDATE: Well, I opted for SS-1, I got 4 of them for $430...not too bad of a price. When I get all my speaks in, I will give a listen and let you know what I think of my first surround system. Thanks for the advice and assistance. V/R G-Money Chorus II Front C-7 Center (bought from Craig, in route) SS-1 Surrounds (bought on Ebay, in route) SVS 25-39 CS (tuned to 22 hz, in route) Yamaha 2300 (bought from BX, $700.00)
  14. I checked the Klipsch web sight and didn't find anyway to order replacment radiators, would you know how to go about ordering from Klipsch? Thanks in advance. V/R G-Money
  15. Good day forum members, I am in need of the subject speakers to finish my surround set-up (Chorus II main; C-7 Center; SVS 25-31 CS Sub). I have looked high and low to no avail; if anyone knows where I might get a pair, please let me know. Thanks in advance, V/R G-Money
  16. DJK, Thank you for the info, would you know how to tune them once I get them installed? Sorry, I am completely ignorant on this subject. V/R G-Money
  17. Hi Craig, I can't remember for the life of me what your suround speakers were called, can you refresh my memory? Thanks, V/R Glenn
  18. Would you be selling you RS-3II's as well? I would be interested in those. V/R G-Money
  19. Good morning forum members, I am in need of passive radiators for my Chorus II's, does anyone know where I could aquire some? My kids desided to put their hands thru mine. Any assistance would be very appretiated, V/R G-Money
  20. Still no reply from AAFES, has customer service taken a back seat as well? It would still be nice to have a Klipsch employee chime in on this subject...how do I get their attention?
  21. Paul, here is a web site I found showing what Klipsch speaker matches the best with other Klipsch speakers. http://www.audiocompaniet.no/matrix1.html It is in another language (I think Norway), but it is easy to understand. If I was you, I wouldn't stray too far from thier recomendations or the recomendations from this forum...possible matching problems. If anyone else has a thought on this subject or the web site I recomended, please provide feedback, thanks.
  22. I am in the process of talking with Tom V about the 25-31 CS, he says he can tune it down to around 22 hz and the amp should be just fine, thank you all for the help on the subject. V/R G-Money P.S. Shipping quoted at $125.00...OUCH! Do these subs really weigh that much?
  23. These days, AAFES will try to push the (overpriced and overrated) BOSE crap on us the second we walk in the store!!!
  24. Dear Klipsch, I was just at the Military Exchange web site (which lists all vendors they do business with)and discovered Klipsch no longer does business with the Military Exchange (AAFES). I am stationed oversea's and am forced to do business with non-authorized dealers or buy used products...all of which, over the internet. Would anyone have any insite as to why Klipsch and Military Exchanges don't do business together anymore...almost un-american. Might this have something to do with the new distributor restructuring? Not only do Military Exchanges not sell any Klipsch products, you can't even special order products, this is totally unacceptable!!! There has been a long, long love affair between the military and Klipsch, I beleive Klipsch is where they are today because the military bought there products at oversea's locations and brought them to the US for the whole nation to see and enjoy. Is there anything that can be done? I have contacted the Military Exchange (AAFES) to see if they have any history as to what happened to this wonderful relationship, I will update this thread as soon as I hear back. V/R G-Money
  25. Craig, my APO is AP 96367. I have never been stationed in USAFE, just PACAF for about 12 years. I have been to Incerlik Turkey for a TDY a few years back...got some rugs and jewelry pretty cheap. If you would like to e-mail me directly, here is my e-mail address: ririko@kda.attmil.ne.jp I was looking at a web sight that does the speaker system matching for Klipsch and it said Chorus II's best match is C7 and RS-3II's, but I like the look of the surounds you are selling better. Let me know about the shipping and I will zap you the PAYPAL, thanks again. V/R Glenn
