  1. I have been trying to build a HTPC from my old computer.... which has very nice parts. But, I just don't know what i would need to get..... or how it all even works.
  2. It is a great game. I played it for a while. It is nothing like EQ, it is in everyway better than EQ. The content of this game is INSANE... I can't believe how many quests they have.... and its in beta. They have so many quests its almost overwhelming. EQ was released and they only had 2 quests you could do until you got to level 30+.... Also, if anyone ever played EQ, gameplay was SLOW!!!! WoW is very slick, very nice, not much down time. Much more fun. I am huge into PvP and I didn't experience any of it in the time i played :-( but I have faith that Blizzard will take care of it because they are the only beta to ever have a PvP server in Beta... so lets hope.
  3. LoL The house is big.... 26 rooms and yeah... their are a few problems but nothing major. 100 year old house... way to many thigns to fix and not enough money
  4. I called Denon and asked them about the ventelation before i set it all up and they cleared it and said it would be fine... I wish I had more but... I don't really have any other palce to put it... the shelves dont' move... so I can't adjust them :-(
  5. :-) lol guys Yeah, the house was built in 1902 so its over 100 years old. So the wall was already slightly damaged :-) but i like your thoughts. The radiator is basically turned off it heats up a little but we use space heaters to keep warm we just use the radiators so that the pipes don't freeze So they don't put off a lot of heat. I don't think it will cause my components a problem. To expensive to use them. As for restoring the home.... Well it used to be a classic victorian then was converted into 6 appartments and my parents turned it back into a single family home... so yeah lots of contruction. That was one of the hardest parts about picking a room to put the home theater in.... No electical outlets with grounds, lol :-)
  6. Yeah, I definately know nothing about photography :-) I can admit it and thanks
  7. subwoofer grrrrr subwoofer picture didn't get posted with initial post never thought I would ever see "insane poster" lol
  8. I have many others but I don't want to scare you all off :-)
  9. I love this picture, get to see the copper cone peaking through, because of the flash And my cheapo DVD/CD holders from wal-mart almost match my speakers :-)
  10. Tell me what you all think, I have been on this board for some time... :-) Kind of a quiet person but im always here :-)
  11. My, DVD player could well by my problem I am using a cheap $70 mitsubishi progressive scan DVD player from best-buy
  12. I used to have my center channel turned up more, on my reciever then I used the SPL meter and it said my Center was to loud so I dropped it a few points and I am having problem hearing whispers in movies. Is this normal??? Should I just turn up the center and not pay attention to the SPL meter? or is their something else I can check?
  13. I used to do it with all my cables before I ran out of components on my Reciever. Why? Well because all I had to do was switch my reciever to DVD, and the audio and video were switched. Now, I have to put my controller on reciever, switch to DVD, put the controller on TV, switch to DVD..... Oh well.. I liked it the other way much better I will tell you that much.
  14. Can anyone recommend a Dealer for the Klipsch Reference satellites. I am trying to help someone put together a cheap/great home theater and I was wondering if anyone had purchased any out here or could recommend a Dealer. I can obviously use the find feature on Klipsch website. So, I was just wondering if anyone had dealt with someone out here. Thanks
  15. I have a really good Idea for the Klipsch Plaque but I am having some problems pulling it off. I own full Reference 7 system Cherry on most of it Black Surrounds. I want to attach the Klipsch Plaque to a piece of Cherry wood roughly 14*9 (anything near that will by fine). Plus with Copper Screws (hopefully will match the copper color of the cones + Klipsch Logo on the Plaque. Anyone know a good place to get a Cheap Piece of Cherry wood that Size that would match the speakers, obviously I could get one custom made... but I don't want to spend a whole lot afterall its going with a $20 plastic Klipsch Plaque :-p Also, do you think real copper screws will match the Copper color of the Plastic Logo (If I knew a store that actually sold copper screws I could go compare.... but I have only found them online).
  16. What is the advantage to a all in wonder Video card compared to a normal like a 9800 AIW compared to 9800 Pro or XP, besides the remote??????
  17. Actually, I have watched most of the DVE disk. I definatelly learned a lot. Mainly I just need to know how to use the SPL meter Such as: What range 120-60? Weighting A or C? Response Fast or Slow? Can I use it for other tests such as the "Buzz & Rattle Test", "Frequency Sweep", "Bass Management Test", again what range for each of these I assume for the main test I am supposed to put the SPL meter in the listening position and facing straight up while I do the "Band Limited Pink Noise for each speaker and get each to register the same on the SPL meter??? Sorry, I should have been more specific the first time on the help i needed hehe :-)
  18. OK, so I bought the SPL meter today.... finally I also got the Digital Video Essentials Disk to set it up. But, I can't seem to figure out how to use the SPL meter. Can anyone help, I thought the disk was supposed to tell me how to use it. But, I can't seem to find the chapter. So if anyone could help I would appreciate it. Thanks
  19. Hey, I have been on this board since June 6 2003... slightly over a year. I just replied to a message in the Home Theater forum and was saying how this time last year I didn't even know what DTS was. :-) almost 250 odd posts later.... I have a full reference 7 set up with RSW-15, and I couldn't be happier. But, I honestly can't thank everyone on this forum enough, even the moderators. Everyone has been extremely nice and always given me good advice. I doubt I would ever have this set-up or my passion for movies/music and overall good quality sound if it weren't for everyone here so THANKS! I still visit the forum's everyday to learn and on occasion get some more help :-) Thanks again
  20. Remember... as much as you tweak and experiment, the most important thing is how you like the sound. Most houses do not have the ideal listening environment that the designers of the HT specs have utilized. I have a couple of spikes and holes in the frequency range with my own house that I work at every now and then; even though they're there, Klipsch speakers have made my HT experience far above most others I have heard (don't you hate having to lie to a friend or acquaintance when they ask you what you think of their Bose HT, or their system that looks like it belongs on a computer desk instead of a $2,000+ widescreen television?). LOL, I definately understand that. :-) also talked my sisters husband out of getting bose, all I had to do was say.. sit right here for 5 minutes *pushes play button* :-) Anyways, I definately enjoy my system, I have never been happier with a purchase. I just always have a feeling I didn't set something up right and it could be better hehe. Because this time last year I didn't even know what DTS was... much less knew about cross over frequency :-)
  21. hehe, I want to head to the indy trip one day... im only 21 and all though so I have time Also, now that I am getting the klipsch plaque I kinda want a DTS and maybe a dolby anyone know of good ones? I know their are bunches on the net but some look like pieces of **** and some I just can't tell if its good quality or not.
  22. I have never seen the plaque, Ordering one when I get back from vacation in two weeks.... Don't take them all forum buddies :-p I would get a T-shirt too, but im not fond of Black T-shirts.... *hint* *hint* :-)
  23. I have been trying to perfect my setup.... I have had the sub for about 3 months now. The sub completed the system :-) Anyways, I am very new to home theater and I will never get over how it sounds... but I am just now starting to think if I spent more time setting it up it could be better. So, what are some good tips? Like I know I have to turn my center channel up cause i can't hear people talking in most movies if I don't.... however I can't decide how high my surrounds should be some movies they are to loud, some they are to soft. X-box the surround are VERY Loud. Also, how far apart should the front speakers be, Is there someplace I could look this up or would it be best for me to create a diagram of my room and upload it for help???
