  1. Off the cusp, does anyone have an idea what it will cost to intsall a 21 x 16 drop ceiling? The grid work is really what I'm after as I'll most likely buy the tile myself as I want something nice if I'm doing this.

Yeppers, what I wanted to do is simply too complicated and may look bad as theire are several different "elevations" in the ceiling.

  2. I listen to metal as well, from time-to-time. I have had the KLF-20's, RF-7's, and frote II's,

My fovorite speaker between these for metal would be the RF-7's. They have amazing bass, and are less harsh than a 3-way speaker....(harsh isn't a ggod discription). My RF-7 crossovers have been modified by DeanG as well. Of course, for those puppy's, amplification is the key!

At lower listening volumes, I think the 3-way forte II's sound much better.

    Good luck to you!

PS - Forget my comment on the 2 AM radio's. On further consideration I don't feel this is a viable option anymore.

  3. Speaking of itchy fiberglass, we just bought this home and the heating system's don't evenly disperse. I took fiberglass and shoved some into the vents (no dampers on them up top) which helped a TON, but the heating and air guy commented that we'll have itchy fibers blowing into the room, Their sending two guys out tonight to adjust the dampers under the house for each room.

  4. Thanks again guys. I'll read more on this from the sites posted. I've not thought of landscaping fabric....thats a very interesting concept!

Another thing I thought about is accoustic foam lengths that are cut and placed in between the joists thus covering the fiberglass.

Again, I need to read up on room treatments and sound waves, so to speak.

I would like to post pictures sometime this weekend, but the last few I've tried to download here, don't load.

  5. Not sure I want to use 1.2's. Some folks have commented how good they sound though. Currently I don't know what I'll use. The price was so low on the KLF that I simply had to bid. 5.1 (5.2) (Dolby) is fine with me, so would 6.2, or even 7.2

  6. Natas, theres a KLF-C7 on ebay for local pickup in Chapel Hill. I'm the high bidder, but if you want it I'll back out and pick it up and you could pick it up in Danville...just a thought. I'ts supossed to be a rocking Center, and I bid on it for a rear speaker. Take it if you want it.
