  1. Someone has to know more about this band!!
  2. Saw them in Pittsburgh a couple of weeks ago and totally agree.
  3. Craig thanks for the tip on the tubes. The 233 is the spanish version Si. It's a typo and I'll fix it now
  4. Brett: Which amp is the one you sent me the pictures of?
  5. Any body know who sells the new 7591 tubes and if they are any good?
  6. At a party last night a band by the name of der furher was brought up. I never heard of it, but it was suppossed to be a punk hard core band from the eighties. Any help or weblinks to confirm or deny?
  7. Check on Audiogon and do a search for scott. There are always a few and I know I saw about five 222's and 299's tonight. I bought a 222 off a forum member(Tom Mobley) and almost got one from another (darn UPS). They come up for sale often.
  8. Did anyone see the guy on audiogon selling his collection of 24 scott amps http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/ship.pl?ampstube&1103841389&class&3&4&&gz
  9. I could just borrow it and replace it if it sounded as bad as you say. I guess it's worth a shot.
  10. I Have access to bulk battery cable wire up to four gauge and spark plug wire in 8mm and 7mm. I was wondering if anyone has tried either of these for speaker wire or interconnects. Thanks
  11. Brett: Is that the amp from the guy in Mcdonald?? Tom
  12. Thanks for the concern guys. I checked the ground and that solved the problem.
  13. Dman Thanks for all the help. I'll try all of those things Tom
  14. I had the amp rebuilt about one year ago so I would hope nothing is going south, or north, east, west either. I know nothing about electronics so how would I test for this, I have a multimeter.
  15. No It's not that, We've had the wettest summer I can remember and it's been happening for a while.
  16. I noticed lately when touching the faceplate of my 233 scott amplifier that I get a mild shock. It doesn't happen all of the time, but I don't think it should happen at all. Does anyone know if any of the ground wires are prone to getting loose, or any other cause. Thanks
  17. As still fairly new to tube amps I was wondering what other people felt the best 12ax7 tube is for the scott integrated (233 and 222-c). I have four bugle boy, my favorite, four telefunken, and four new production gold pins. It seems to me the bugle boys are softer and not as bright. I would like some input from others on their favorites for similar amps
  18. I checked out the links and couldn't find what I wanted, may be I need to be more clear. I'm looking for the adapter with four u terminals that convert to two banana plug ins. I saw them on a thread, but for the life of me I couldn't find that thread.
  19. Does anyone remember the source for the speaker output adapter for older scott amplifiers?
  20. Hank Thompson says "Your a tricker, a trecker, and a little homewrecker the slyest gal that I ever knew."
  21. Allan: I would like the record, the reason, I have eight Coltrane cd's, but no vinyl. I would like to see if I can hear the difference between the two. It's a double edge sword because if I like vinyl better I might have to get a second job!! Tom
  22. Just finished listening to the mosaic grant green version of Moon River on the Scott with the bugle boys. There was a difference between the telefunkens and the bb's. It seems to me that the bb's were more clear than the telefunkens. The cybals sounded more crisp and the guitar sounded clearer. I wonder if anyone else noticed a clearer more crisp sound with bugle boy tubes as compared to telefunkens ? I'm going to listen more to see if it occurs on other recordings.
  23. Thanks Craig. I'll post later tonight. I have telefunkens now should I expect much difference?
