  1. It changed my life.

Also, I have to admit my very technical way of setting it up involved taking it out of the box, connecting it, turning it up half way, and rockin'!

I'll double back with an SPL as soon as I get one.

Hang in there! It will change your life too!

  2. I really like my KG1's with my KG3's since I picked them up. I think they look cool too, because it is basically the same speaker, just smaller.

All speakers set to "small" combined with that new SVS about two months ago has been outstanding!

  3. I know this has been a touchy subject around here of late. You will notice I am trying to be respectful with no mention of SVS in my subject line.

Also, I must say that the reasons I have now become such a fan of SVS subs are the same reasons I am such a fan of klipsch speakers. Great sound and very high on the value meter. I think both companies deliver an incredible amount of sound for the money. Also, both products are proudly manufactured here in the USA!

For the moderators: I am anxiously awaiting the opportunity to add a pair of Cornwalls or K-Horns to my system. I just need a suitable room in a new house to put around them.

  4. Ordered my new SVS PB12-Plus/2 on Tuesday and it arrived on my doorstep on Friday-just in time for the weekend. All I can say is WOW!

Way overkill for my system right now, but I am hoping to grow into it very quickly.

"Tapping of the glass" in Nemo is the best demo so far. It's scary!

If you are considering one of these, pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed.

What's your favorite sub demo? Any sleepers out there?

  5. One idea I have been kickin' around in my head but have yet to pull the trigger on is getting rid of the DVD boxes all together and going with a big CD album type storage unit. In addition to the WAF and space saving feature of not having a big storage unit standing around, the album would also:

    1. Give me the opportunity to leaf through my collection from the comfort of my La-Z-Boy.

    2. The ability to hand the album to a guest for their pick of the movie of the night.

    3. Allow said guest to pick a few "favorite parts" of movies during that always fun HT demo.

One concern I have is the loss of the box "art," but it's not like I would throw it away. Just put in storage out of sight.

    What do you guys think?

  6. I could not agree more with Nightmare Before Christmas and Christmas Vacation. My kids and I have established the tradition of watching "Nightmare" on Halloween night as we feast on the day's bounty. "Vacation" is our Christmas eve viewing tradition and I am looking forward to it already. I have also recently added another one to my list, Elf. An instant classic IMHO.

  7. I have watched New Hope so far and I think it looks and sounds great.

I really enjoyed hearing the dialog in the beginning again after having seen I and II. It all ties together so nicely.

However, a better(more) preview of III and a PS2 version of the game would have been nice.

  8. Any movie that has my kids asking me to break out the AC/DC is welcome in my house. A nice break from Aaron Carter and Lilo and Stitch (although the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack is not bad either).

  9. Thanks to all. Great information including some important safety tips for all of us to remember when using BLO.

The veneer on my speakers, including the ones I have acquired recently , remains in pretty good shape. I am looking forward to seeing how they look after I am done. The good news seems to be that no matter which method you use, it is simple enough to do it more often than the once every 10 year schedule I have been on.

    Thanks again,

    Dean

  10. I am proud to report that my quest to surround myself in Klipsch just got one step closer to completion! I found a nice pair of KG1's on ebay to go with my KG3's and my KV2.

Now, I want to do the boiled linseed oil treatment for everything. Based on info I have gathered here in the Forum, it looks like the oil should be cut with 50% mineral spirits, applied to the wood, and the excess wiped off.

Anyone have any other important tips?

Thanks in advance for the help.
