I have Klipschorns and a wright. The violin recording that sounds strident is Hilary Hahn Bach Concertos (Deutsche Grammophon). The SET sounds a little less strident than the Creek on this particular recording. Overall, the Creek has more of the emotional impact of live music than the Wright, but the Wright has lovely detail. For example, on the Ben Webster CD "The Verve Years", the Creek grabs you and sends chills up your spine just like a great live performance can. However, the sax has a little touch of harshness to it with the Creek that the Wright does not.
