  1. FYI I had to relist these on ebay, as ebay cancelled the auction because they would not allow me to pass their 2.9% Paypal fee on to the buyer. So I removed that from the auction and relisted it. Thanks for looking! Susan
  2. The Wrights are now listed on ebay. Thanks for looking! Susan
  3. I do have some pics but do not know how to post them here. i can email them to anyone who is interested. Susan
  4. Hi, I am selling a pair of Wright WPA 3.5 amps. They are barely used, in excellent shape and with the original tubes. I prefer the sound of my Creek, so am selling these. $900 plus shipping. Susan
  5. Walmart sells one for about $5 that works great and sounds better than the monster cable version.
  6. Dee, Glad to hear you are out of the hospital and on the road to a full recovery! Isabella
  7. Leo, I have Klipschorns and a wright. The violin recording that sounds strident is Hilary Hahn Bach Concertos (Deutsche Grammophon). The SET sounds a little less strident than the Creek on this particular recording. Overall, the Creek has more of the emotional impact of live music than the Wright, but the Wright has lovely detail. For example, on the Ben Webster CD "The Verve Years", the Creek grabs you and sends chills up your spine just like a great live performance can. However, the sax has a little touch of harshness to it with the Creek that the Wright does not. Dee, Thanks for bumping this thread up again, and also thanks for your comments on the switch to 4 oms...I will give it a try! Isabella
  8. I have a Cambridge Audio D300SE CD player. I also have a Peach and would like to pair it with a power amp that retains the musicality of the Creek but adds more detail. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to a lot of components and appreciate comments from those who have! I am currently listening to a 2a3 amp with the Peach and I like it alot, especially the detail. However, it does not have the same punch (body, personality?) as the Creek. It is hard to describe the difference, that is why I was hoping someone here had heard the Creek and could offer some suggestions. Thanks! Isabella
  9. I am upgrading from a Creek int amp to separates (Peach preamp and ????) in the hope of retaining the wonderful Creek pacing, rhythm, and overall musical presence while improving on the detail. The Creek can be a little muddy at times, and violins can sound strident. Any thoughts on what amp would improve on the Creek? I appreciate everyone's thoughts of course, but am especially interested in hearing from those who have actually listened to the Creek. Thanks, Isabella
  10. Can anyone tell me what driver I have in my Khorns? The serial number of the speakers is 8661586 if this helps. Thanks, Isabella
  11. Hi, all, I am still here and listening and learning from all that is said. Keep on with the talk, I appreciate what everyone has to say! Isabella
  12. Tony, My speakers have AK-2 on the board...should this be upgraded, and if so, how? Does anyone have suggestions on speaker wires for the Khorns? Looks like I will try to listen to some tube amps if possible and think about adding DAC. Anyone have knowledge of stereo stores that carry Klipsch near Little Rock? I'm not sure how to describe the sound I like...I guess warm and full bodied. Isabella
  13. Tony, thanks! I guess I was thinking tubes as I have heard they sound better than SS. Haven't actually listened myself. Re: speakers...I am illiterate when it comes to crossovers, etc. Have no clue even what that is. I would like to upgrade the Klipschorns but would need someone to guide me with this, as to what exactly to upgrade and how to do it. I am using Pure Silver Sound interconnects and think these do make a difference in the sound...am thinking of some day getting their silver speaker cables. Your help is appreciated! Isabella
  14. I have a pair of Klipschorns that I purchased in 1985. I listen to lots of music (no home theater), mainly jazz and classical, but some rock and folk as well. I would like to pair the Klipsch with a good amp (or pre amp and amp, if this is neccesary to get wonderful sound) that would be better than my current Creek 4330 integrated amp. Any suggestions from Klipschorn owners would be greatly appreciated! I would like to keep the cost to under 1K if possible. thanks, Isabella I use a Cambridge Audio D300SE CD player. Also, do I need to make any upgrades to the Klipschorns?
  15. Thanks, artto...very helpful! S.
  16. artto, Please explain the ratio 1:1.26:1.59. I have some klipschorns and plan on building a room for them...something around 18-20 ft wide, with 9' ceilings (at least). What would the best room dimensions be? Thanks, S.
