  1. I am sure you can them new or used on ebay!
  2. I have asked him many a times and it was agreed that I would get the money when he got the tv. I was going to sabatoge it when he wasnt home. It annoys me because he has money to spend other things!
  3. Ok here is the problem I sold my 36 in hd toshiba tv(2yrs old paid 1800) to my friend. I gave it to him for 400 a steal three months ago. I hooked it up even using one of my monster hd cables. I have gotten 100 dollars so far for it in bits and pieces. I was hoping there was a way I could make the tv look broke and I would take it back as a good friend would do. Rather then being the repo man route. I thought about mayb switching the hd cables around and screwing up the color. He probably woudnt figure that out. Anything in the service menu or something like that I could do Thanks
  4. Rotel looks great, Bello are nice costly. I hate to say it but I bought a rack at walmart for 50 bucks that looks almost identical. same shelves. perforated metal back. Although I would much have a Bello than a Walmarto. But I eventually ditched the shelve because I had it in the same spot as you and it always became a focal point. Had to buy longer wires the whole nine. Loooks great and enjoy
  5. Been on the web looking for logos I can print. I cant find anything that is close to print quality. I have the Klipsch logo of this site. But a nice dolby digital or dts and such elude me. Anyone know of some high res logos? Thanks
  6. Could also be my less then stellar comcast cable reception. I have been tempted by satelite but I hate putting holes in my roof. Plus a lot of leave foilage during the summer. My reciever doesnt have a hdmi input for the dvd player. Although running it though the reciever is something I have thought ofbut I dont always run the sound through my receiver for viewing tv. usually only if it is a show I really enoy or a game or something. I think it all comes down to the poor quality of the anolog stations. If I watch the hdef version of a show and swicth to the anolog one, the dark scenes always seem much better in hdtv. Thanks for the respones!!
  7. Yes dvds look great, on the tv input hdtv looks great. But some tv shows that are not not hdtv look dark. 75 percent of the time it is fine but when they show a night scene or a dark setting, it is almost impossible to make anything out. I think it just that there is such a wide difference in different programs and how there are shot. I have to really pump up the brightness on the cable input compared to the dvd color setting. thanks
  8. After calibrating my picture with the dve disk. Some tv shows(not high def) Look so dark there are almost impossible to watch. While others look perfect, even switching to the tv sports, standard, etc modes the picture still looks dark. Why do they shoot some shows so dark!?
  9. Go through the menus on the tv and dvd player and make sure you have selected the right options for the hdmi info. On my player there were some selction like anolog or digtial for sound and bitstream of pcm. Double check the menu items. I had video and audio from the player on the tv right away. Good Luck
  10. My new Dvd player Denon 1920 has a hdmi output and my tv has the hdmi also. Now what is the best way to run the audio cable to the receiver 1. Hdmi to tv and the digital audio out of the tv to the reciever? 2. hdmi to tv...and optical to reciever. I prefer the second optiton but I dont know if I can use hdmi output and the optical out from the dvd player at the same time. Does using the hdmi port shut of the out audio ouputs?. And since I will be using the hdmi I guess that means whenever I watch a movie I will need to shut off my tv speakers! Or is there a option on the player not to send audio through the hdmi port Thanks
  11. Probably could find rf3 on ebay possibly new. The rf3II Would match well I imagine not much of a difference between them Good Luck
  12. I can get the player for 315.00 final cost from crutchfield. I got a discount since I bought a tv last week through them (Toshiba 52HMX95 52" Cinema Series High Definition DLP). Dakmart wants 26 bucks for shipping, which brings the final cost to 302. I would get it in two days also. Got the tv cheaper than at my local retailer by 150 bucks. Comes tommorow cant wait..sold my dvd player on ebay(Zentih dvb318 upscaling component model). So I guess no dvds right away Thanks
  13. Hi I am looking at buying the Denon DVD-1920 retails for 379.00 Dakmart is a authorized Denon seller and they offer Bstock denon refurb with the full warranty for 100 dollars less. Is this a mistake to buy? Thanks
  14. That is an idea but I dont always like to have the stereo on. Late at night I often just use the tv speakers. Any thoughts about moving the sub away from the corner? Thanks
  15. Hey all, I havent been here for a while with a new baby keepeing me busy. I am looking into the Toshiba 52 widescreen hd dlp, check it out here http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/televisions/product.asp?model=52hmx95 It doesnt have 1080p, but I think this will be the one. I guess I will use the hdmi hookup for dvd player. But doesnt that also send audio to the tv, I can run a optical cable to the dvd player, to the reciever. But does this mean that I have to turn the speakers off the tv everytime I watch a dvd. And lastly the tv is much bigger than my old one. I will be getting rid of the equipment rack. to free some space, I want to keep the tv centered between the scones. Which means I will need to much the sub out of the corner. Does moving the sub out of the corner reduce the effectivness of the sub. Thanks for you opions!!
  16. I think edtv stands for enhaceded defination not high def like hdtv. I dont now the ins and outs of edtv but it as good as hdtv. Some people get fooled by this and think it is equal or better than edtv. I dont hink they make edtv's any more or it is on its wasy out
  17. My buddy has a large living room and thinking about getting a projector. He is looking to spend max about 5 thou, probalby including screen. Can you recommend a projector and screen. RS3 II

Well I think the rule of thumb for height is ear level STANDING up. I have mine mine even with the couch since I couldnt go any further back. You will get many answers on placement. But I think height is ear level. See pic attached
  19. Hate to say it but I think that reciever that came with it would probably only power quinents. And I am sure the reciever is very limited to what it can do. I would suggest you keep what you have for the time being and save up for a more powerfil receiver. And some nice speaks
  20. Maybe I should swicth my mains to large. I always think about it but, maybe no I will try. No sense having towers if You dont use the woofers. Worth a listen a least!
  21. HI I have a similiar setup, except I have the reference-3II all the way around 6.1. My denon 2803 put out plently of power for my room size 15 x 25. Ht area is 15 x12. Cant go over kill on the sub. Just set the volume on the sub accordly. I think the speakers would give you plently of years although in the future you might get a new reciver with more features. Technology always changes. I personlly would go with one line or the other rf35 or rf5 or whatever. Here are two pics of my ht. Good lUck
  22. Figured that would get your attention. Tlc has a show called clean sweep. In short they go to someones house and remove all there clutter and junk. Sell it at a gargage sale and use that money for the makeover. Well they sold the la scals's which they called funky bulky speakers for $50. Looked like good sahpe to me Someone was mad I am sure!
  23. Shotgun works too....just kidding
  24. HI I have a similiar setup. Same speakers running 6.1 with a svs sub a have a denon 2803. wich is rated at 90w a channel. I usually watch movies between -25 to -12max. Plently of power for me. Good luck
